HMAF Gasshuku

In addition to our weekly schedule, we host special events throughout the year. Many of these are open to the public and are a great way to try something new and different. Click the Event Name link for more information.

Hakkoryu Gasshuku
Friday-Sunday
Nov 11-13, 2011

The HMAF Gasshuku is an annual event during which Hakkoryu practitioners from around the country gather to join in the spirit of Hakkoryu, train together, and share.

Attendance by all HMAF members is strongly encouraged though you don't have to be a member of HMAF to attend.

We invite all martial artists of all styles and ranks who are interested in furthering their knowledge in Hakkoryu Jujutsu to attend.

The Gasshuku gives us the opportunity to share our lives for a specific period of time and strengthen our bond in Hakkoryu Jujutsu. This unique training opportunity includes many hours of intense training and hands-on instruction with senior students in the details of Hakkoryu Jujutsu techinique.

In the spirit of togetherness, we also schedule several social opportunities for attendees. If attendees travel to the Gasshuku with their family, we host non-martial arts activities for the families to attend during training sessions.

The annual November Gasshuku runs from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. It offers 12 hours of detailed, intensive training and lots of social time for networking.

A special one hour seminar is provided for children ages 5 - 12. During this class, children experience the magic of Hakkoryu Jujutsu as they are shown some of the same techniques practiced by the black belts.
