We will do lots of play acting, using our bodies, breath, mind, voices and spirits to transform negative interactions into positive action!

Power Animals: An Exploration of the Animals of Indonesian Kung-fu (adult martial artists)
Each of the four animals of Indonesian Kung-Fu carries an elemental energy. The tiger, associated with the earth is attuned with the pulse of the earth and its own rhythms, knowing when to move and when to wait. The monkey, firey and erratic, sparks creativity and joyful connection. The snake associated with water, effortlessly sheds its skin to inspire transformation. The crane soars through the air as a symbol of peace, embodying grace, balance and clear sight. Through visualizations and working with the four elements associated with each animal, you will "drop into" the magical power of the dragon and feel your power, grace, fluidity and spontaneity deep and meaningful ways.
The Chinese Whip Chain (adult martial artists)
Come play with and learn a Chinese whip chain form. The chain whip is heavy but flexible, allowing it to be literally used as a whip to hit, hook and bind an opponent, restrict his/her movement, and to deflect blows from other weapons. The dart is used for slashing or piercing an opponent. In some cases, the dart might be coated with a poison. Because the whip is flexible, it can be used to strike around obstacles, including an opponent's block. The whip chain can be folded and hidden from view, making it an easy weapon to carry and conceal. It is very difficult to master, but lots of fun to learn. Plastic chains will be used in learning, to keep everyone safe.
